Course Details

This course was designed to be part of the core foundations training for family justice counsellors (FJCs) in British Columbia. This course will outline early resolution process (ERP) requirements and exemptions and review relevant court forms. It will examine the role of administrative professionals, justice interviewers, child support officers, lawyers, judges, and other court staff in ERP and explore common practice challenges related to consent, documentation, confidentiality, and readiness for mediation. The course will draw upon policy and practice documents and resources, including the B.C. Provincial Court Family Rules, Family Justice Services Manual of Operations (FJS MOP), and court forms.
