This course is intended to increase awareness among correctional staff by providing an overview of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) within the context of the British Columbia correctional system. Participants will be introduced to the process of FASD assessments and diagnosis, and how to work more effectively when a medical diagnosis is not available. Implementation strategies and the importance of support networks will also be explored.
