Course Details

This course provides trained ground search and rescue (GSAR) volunteers with the knowledge and team leadership skills necessary to safely and effectively plan, organise, lead, supervise and execute a ground search and rescue team assignment. The course focuses on situational leadership skills, provincial operating and safety guidelines, reporting and documentation requirements, team briefings/debriefings, advanced search and rescue tactics and the specifics of leading a search and rescue operation. This course includes both online and field activities to develop knowledge and assess skills.

  • EMRG-1700 or EMRG-1704 and EMRG-1200 and EMRG-1660
