Learn and demonstrate advanced skills to extinguish an ignitable liquid fire using foam applications, operating as a member of a team. Gain experience controlling flammable gas cylinder fires and coordinating an interior attack. Explore propane properties and hazards and apply suppression techniques .

Course Prerequisite Waiver

Firefighters interested in taking this course who have completed prerequisite training through another provider are required to:

  1. Complete JIBC’s Requisite Waiver Form.
  2. Submit documentation that shows you have met the prerequisites for this course to requisitewaiver@jibc.ca. This documentation includes:
  • A transcript or training record and 
  • A letter of validation from your Fire Chief on department letterhead.
