Course Details

This course provides an overview of the psychosocial needs of emergency management personnel and communities before, during, and after disasters, as well as strategies and resources to support psychosocial resilience (e.g., self-care, worker care). This course also discusses stress responses, vulnerable populations, resiliency toolkits, and risk and resiliency factors. This course replaces EMRG-1141 Disasters & Trauma. While EMRG-1141 is no longer being offered, it will still be accepted towards the Emergency Management Certificate Program if students have already taken it.
