Opened in 2008, the Dr. Donald B. Rix Public Safety Simulation Building at JIBC's New Westminster campus houses state-of-the-art technology to deliver immersive, interactive scenario-based training exercises anytime, anywhere.
JIBC worked with various government agencies and private industry to produce scenarios of catastrophic events and critical incidents used in the Dr. Donald B. Rix Public Safety Simulation Building.
Developed by JIBC, Praxis is the web-based virtual simulation learning tool in the Dr. Donald B. Rix Public Safety Simulation Building. It provides experiential learning through the delivery of scenario or problem-based decision-making simulations allowing learners to explore and learn in an immersive, exciting way.
