About the Event

Consent Awareness Week is a dedicated time to deepen our understanding of consent, promote respectful interactions, and foster healthy relationships within our community. This week, we invite students, faculty, and staff to participate in events that explore what consent truly means and how we can all contribute to a culture of respect and mutual understanding.

Event Schedule

Consent Workshop

Place: CL226A, New Westminster Campus

Date: Monday, September 21, 2026

Time: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM

Consent is not just a single moment—it is an ongoing, active, and respectful dialogue. Join us for an interactive, foundational session designed to help participants explore what consent truly means in daily life, unpack common myths around gender and sexualized violence, and practice clear communication. Whether you want to sharpen your boundary-setting skills or learn how to better support those around you, this workshop offers practical tools rooted in empathy, SGBV prevention, and mutual respect. Everyone is welcome!

C.R.I.S.P. Giveaway

Time: 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM

A consent CRISP giveaway is an educational campus or community event where something free will be handed out alongside awareness materials explaining the C.R.I.S.P. consent acronym:

  • Considered: All parties take time to think about the request, potential risks, and power dynamics before deciding.
  • Reversible: Anyone can change their mind or withdraw agreement at any point.
  • Informed: Everyone involved knows the full picture and understands what they are agreeing to.
  • Specific: Agreeing to one specific action does not mean agreeing to anything else.
