About the Event

The Moose Hide Campaign started more than 10 years ago in B.C. as an Indigenous-led grassroots movement to engage men and boys in a conscious effort to end violence towards women and children. Today, it calls on all Canadians to end all forms of gender-based and domestic violence.

Participate in virtual or in-person programming.

Moose Hide Campaign Day is Thursday, May 15. Events will be held in Victoria, with many sessions – including ceremonies, speakers, and workshops – available online.

The Office of Indigenization will be hosting a viewing of the livestream during the general plenary session:

  • Where: The Gathering Place, New Westminster campus
  • When: May 15, 8:30 to 10 a.m.
  • Coffee and snacks will be provided and everyone is welcome to attend. Learn more about the keynote speakers here

Make a pledge to end violence.

Share your pledge to end violence and let us know why you are wearing a moose hide pin. Here's how it works:

  • On May 15, Moose Hide Campaign Day, take a selfie with the pin and post on social media to share why you wear it, your own pledge to take action, and why it matters. Tell us in the text of the post, record a short video or even add a written sign.
  • Add your voice to the movement by adding the hashtags #MooseHideCampaignDay #MooseHideCampaign #Reconciliation
  • Tag us on (Instagram and Facebook: @justiceinstitutebc) so we can like and share!

Show your support for this important and impactful campaign!
