Institutional Research helps ensure successful educational experiences for students, and a skilled labour force for British Columbia, by reporting on performance and producing insights that drive strategic direction.

It is responsible for accountability reporting to the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training and other external agencies through projects and activities such as the British Columbia Central Data WarehouseBC Student Outcomes and the Student Transitions Project.

Institutional Research supports JIBC’s Board, executive, and management team with business intelligence and operations research that contributes to effective planning and a cycle of continuous improvement. Key areas of focus include key performance metrics, strategic enrolment management, program and service evaluation, stakeholder feedback, and market research for educational programming.

It leads Institute-wide data governance, facilitating the collaboration required to ensure that JIBC staff and stakeholders gain access to trustworthy information to support timely decision-making.
