JIBC|Safe features include safety alerts and Friend Walk

As part of our ongoing commitment to ensure the safety and well-being of our campus community, the Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC) is pleased to announce the launch of JIBC|Safe, a safety app designed for JIBC students, staff and faculty.

JIBC|Safe Features

JIBC|Safe is now available for download. Now you can have campus-specific emergency and safety information in your hand when you need it.

Features include:

  • Notifications and safety alerts.
  • Guides for what to do in emergency situations.
  • Health and safety guidance updates and resources.
  • Direct call to campus security and first responders.

  • Tool for reporting hazards and concerns.

  • Friend Walk – allow a friend to monitor your walk or ride home and provide a panic button in case of emergency.

Stay informed of safety issues including campus closures, evacuations, and active threats with notifications. Users may activate push notifications through the app or sign up online for text or email notifications. 

How to download

Download JIBC|Safe app through the Apple App Store or Google Play. For the best user experience enable notifications and location services on your device for this app.

JIBC students, staff and faculty are encouraged to download the app and to be equipped with the tools to navigate their campus experience with confidence.
