WHAT IS OPEN EDUCATION?

JIBC is an advocate of open education. According to BCcampus Open Education refers to:

“teaching, learning, and research resources that, through permissions granted by their creator, allow others to use, distribute, keep, or make changes to them.”

JIBC supports a wide range of open educational practices, including the creation, adaptation, and adoption of open textbooksopen educational resources (OER) as part of our Zero Textbook Cost initiative (ZTC) and other forms of open pedagogy.
