Anita Gill

Anita Gill is the Director, Security, Safety and Emergency Management for the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority (VFPA), Canada’s largest port, covering over 16,000 hectares of water and more than 1,000 hectares of land.

In her current role as Director, Gill is responsible for overseeing an extensive portfolio of security, safety, emergency management, compliance and regulatory enforcement programs under the Canada Marine Act and Port Authorities Operations Regulations.  

She has accumulated over 20 years of progressive experience and leadership in legislative enforcement. She represents VFPA internationally on port security and public safety matters and is an associate member of both the British Columbia (BCACP) and Canadian associations of chiefs of police (CACP).

Gill holds several post-secondary certificates through the Justice Institute of British Columbia, including those for reserve constable, deputy sheriff and bylaw officer, as well as a bachelor of arts in criminology from Simon Fraser University. In 2025, Gill completed an Executive MBA Americas program through Cornell-Queen’s University, of which she is the recipient of the 30% Club scholarship award.
