
Rehana Bacchus joined JIBC in 2021 as Program Director for the Centre for Counselling & Community Safety and the Centre for Leadership within the Community & Social Justice Division. She also served as Interim Director of the Community & Social Justice Division for eight months in 2025. She was appointed Interim Dean of the School of Criminal Justice & Security in April 2026.
Before joining JIBC, Bacchus served as Director, Education Programs in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University. Her career in higher education began in 2008 and has included progressive leadership roles, including Director of Academic Support in the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies at the University of British Columbia.
Bacchus holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Education in Post-Secondary Leadership, both from Simon Fraser University.
