The Heather Lyle Memorial Award was established in 2018 by her friends, family, and colleagues in recognition of Heather’s outstanding contribution to service and leadership in emergency management. The award provides financial support to students in the Emergency Management Certificate, Diploma in Emergency and Security Management, and the Bachelor of Emergency and Security Management Studies.

eligibility Criteria
- Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee status.
- Enrolled in the Emergency Management Certificate, Diploma in Emergency and Security Management, or the Bachelor of Emergency and Security Management Studies.
- Demonstrated involvement in school and/or community activities, especially volunteering, in the areas of public and community safety. This must be supported by a letter of reference.
