Course Details

The National Use of Force Framework and BC CID Models as well as the Incident Management Intervention Model (IMIM) used by the RCMP allow the public and law enforcement alike to understand how the force response process should work. They explain how law enforcement officers are trained to assess a situation and respond appropriately, based upon the totality of circumstances which are unique to each incident. They enable law enforcement officers to be decisive in choosing techniques and tactics, and in providing follow up control and after care. The course content will be a blend of knowledge and critical analysis emphasizing awareness of officer safety considerations and issues relating to violator/suspect contact in the field.
