Testing Options
Applicants whose first language is not English may meet English proficiency requirements by taking one of the following English Language proficiency tests. The assessment may involve reading, writing, speaking and listening. The minimum score required can differ depending on the program.

We offer opportunities for students to satisfy our English Language Proficiency admission requirements by improving their English skills at one of our internationally-acclaimed ESL partners through articulated pathways. These pathways allow students to seamlessly enter JIBC, without having to take any additional English entrance test.

For students in a region impacted by the closure of IELTS or TOEFL test centres due to COVID-19, JIBC will temporarily accept the Duolingo English Test as one of the ways to meet our English Entrance Requirements for International Students. Duolingo English Tests taken after February 1, 2020, will be accepted for the Winter 2022 intake.
