“I am thrilled to have the exposure to creating Dashboards

and have already had discussions with my North American team on how we can utilize this tech in not only our business unit but across Enterprise.”

“Even with a lot of experience in arc, I've really enjoyed the course so far.

Most of my work is done in the desktop client, (arcgis pro) so just spending time getting familiar with arc online has been very valuable. Of all our class assignments, I really enjoyed learning about dashboards. They've come up before at work and now that I know how they work, I plan to put one together for our next wildfire response season.”

“I enjoyed learning how to create surveys that integrate with maps

and how to add my own data to a map. These concepts are ones I hope to incorporate within our division. Gaining a clearer understanding of what is possible, what data should be included, and the available options for visualization and dashboards has been very helpful as I begin developing a project charter to define our needs and objectives.”

“I found the last course to be really beneficial,

especially on the utilization of drone data layers, to help capture information that would otherwise need to be ground-truthed...This already allowed me to pitch several ideas to senior leadership on the benefits of the applications for several different departments utilizing what we already have in ArcGIS.”

“What I really liked about EMRG-1542 was learning how to integrate established data layers

from trusted providers (like current or forecasted weather, or road information, infrastructure locations, etc.) with as-it-happens information such as crime, arrests or other kinetic information.”

Micro-credential is a type of programming that allows learners to gain specialized career-developing skills that meet the needs of employers. Micro-credentials are fast, flexible, and perfect for the learner looking to upskill or reskill to remain competitive in their chosen field. They can also offer entry pathways to longer credentialed programs or provide ongoing professional development for strategic alignment with current industry standards.

Different types of credentials (e.g. Associate Certificates or Professional Certificates) can be designated as micro-credentials if they are structured to meet the province's requirements as outlined in the Micro-credential Framework. For more information on credential types, visit JIBC's Program Completion and Credentials Policy.

In addition to receiving the relevant credential for the program, students who complete a program structured as a micro-credential will also earn a digital badge.
