Many JIBC firefighter courses are designed to meet National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards. These courses are accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) and the Pro Board Fire Service Professional Qualifications System (Pro Board®).
All JIBC courses are available on a customized contract basis. To discuss your firefighter training options, contact the Fire & Safety Division.
All courses in the Full Service Firefighter Operations and Firefighting Technologies Certificate programs are accredited to NFPA 1001.
All courses in the Fire Officer Certificate program are accredited to NFPA 1021.

Format
The majority of these courses are delivered in a classroom setting with practical field exercise components. There are also courses offered in a blended delivery with both classroom and online components.
