Emergencies require organizations and communities to coordinate people, resources and information – often across multiple agencies and under significant pressure. Emergency management builds that capability before an event occurs, helping reduce risk, strengthen preparedness, coordinate an effective response and support recovery.

JIBC provides practical emergency management education, training and exercises across the full spectrum of prevention and mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery. We work with governments, First Nations communities, first responder agencies, organizations and industry to build the knowledge, skills and capacity needed to prepare for and manage emergencies effectively.
